Recently Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) Executive Director Jolly Kaguhagire refused to vacate office after being interdicted by the Authority’s board.
Kaguhangire was interdicted on grounds of abuse of office, insubordination, misleading and lying to the board, non compliance with implementation of the strategic plan, closure of office (NAMANVE OFFICE) without authorization from the board, serious corruption allegations made against her by UIA staff among others.
Following a meeting at State House, Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has requested Kaguhangire to hand over office to Basil Ajer ON Wednesday 11 July, 2018 at 2:30 pm.
Ajer is the Director of SME and STI.
In a letter dated 9 July, Kasaija asked Kaguhangire to take the matter in good spirit as it is a process to determine whether the accusations against her bear any substance or not.
“On completion of the interdiction period and issuance of the interdiction report of which by copy of the Chairman, Uganda Investment Authority should produce within the agreed period of three months, the decision will be taken on the way forward with your employment with Uganda Investment Authority,” Kasaija told Kaguhangire adding that, “ So, I urge you to be fully cooperative as the investigations go on,”
