Wakiso Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a man over the kidnap and murder of his two siblings.
Taibu Semakula 18 alias Shafick was arrested by officers from Wakiso Police Station after investigations pointed to him as having had a hand in their murder.
Semakula’s arrested was a result of information from residents who alleged that on the fateful day of May 18th 2018 when the siblings went missing, he was sighted around Naluvule where they used to stay. He was also sighted around the same locality the following day .
The officers confirmed the news of the investigation breakthrough sighting the available evidence pinning the brother to the kidnap and murder of the now deceased. Its believed the suspect had knowledge of this gruesome murder.
The motive behind the kidnap and subsequent death stemmed from his mother Catherine Nantume getting married to Charles Katende. Mr Katende took over guardianship of the young Semakula however not long ago, Semakula stole his step father’s sewing machines an act that led to him to being arrested and detained.
While in detention, Semakula vowed to do something which Katende would never forget in life. Upon release from the remand home he left Katende’s home in Naluvule.
Other facts reveal that the suspect had also been arrested in 2016, imprisoned at Naguru Remand home over involvement in kidnap and killing of his aunt’s children in Kawaala however was later released.
After their murder, bodies of Isreal Namalengo and Dorcus Nakiwunga were dumped in a swamp around Naluvule where they were picked and buried at a village called Magala in Sekanyonyi Mityana District.
Semakula has been arraigned before court and remanded vide case file no. CRB 270/2018.
