Aisha Nabukeera is among the 1024 students who are graduating today at Mukono based Uganda Christian University (UCU).
Nabukeera is graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA).
She came into the lime light in 2006 when her plight was brought to the general public’s attention by social entrepreneur and motivational speaker Frank Gashumba.
At that time, Nabukeera was said to be rotting in her father’s house in Masaka, a district in southern Uganda after her step mother allegedly lit her up in flames with a dress fully soaked in petrol a deadly fuel.
After the incident, Gashumba took her on as her foster father and has been living with her and taking care of her.
After undergoing three surgeries, she joined City Parents Primary School, at 13 and was able to score Aggregate 14 in 2008’s Primary Leaving Exams.
She later acquired a sponsorship from the late Lawrence Mukiibi of the St Lawrence Schools for her secondary.
In 2009, she started senior one at Horizon College of St Lawrence and it is from here that she successfully completed her Senior Four, scoring Aggregate 31 and later joined London College of St. Lawrence where she did her A’ level from.
From there she joined UCU and today she is graduating…..
Congratulations to Aisha Nabukeera.
