Court has today dismissed charges against Stanley Ndawula, the proprietor of Investigator, an online publication.
Last year, Ndawula with another Investigator reporter Robert Ndawula were accused of having an intent to defame the then IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura in an article in which it was purported that the police boss was murdering his own officers.
The duo was also accused of disturbing Kayihura’s peace and privacy by posting stories on Facebook that the latter had been arrested and his house cordoned off by the military.
During today’s hearing, prosecution failed to produce witnesses which prompted Chief Magistrate of Nakawa Court Noah Sjjabi to dismiss the case.
“The plea was taken on 6th November 2017, prosecution has failed to produce witnesses or any file on this matter. I hereby dismiss this case,” said Chief Magistrate.
