The National Women team-Crested Cranes got the better of a Kampala Select team by winning the build-up match organized by the technical team to assess the fitness of players.

2016 FUFA player of the year Hasifah Nassuuna and Juliet Nalukenge netted for Crested Cranes while Uganda Martyr’s Gloria Namugerwa converted a penalty late in the game for Kampala Select.

The Kampala Select team had a bigger presence of players from the FUFA Women Elite League reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Secondary School who gave the Crested Cranes a run for their money.
Head coach for the Crested Cranes Faridah Bulega was impressed by her team’s performance.
‘I liked the test given to us by our opponents. The players enjoyed the match. We shall keep pushing to get the best out the team in the remaining days before we travel to Kenya’ said Bulega.
Ayub Khalifan and Nkata Moses were in charge of the Kampala Select team.
Crested Cranes used the match as a build up to the two legged qualifiers against Kenya, with the first leg due next week on 4th April in Machakos. The return leg is set for Sunday 8th April at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
