Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has vowed to close forty eight schools in Kampala which are below the required standards.
This was revealed by Juliet Namuddu, the deputy Executive Director and Director in charge of Education at KCCA.
Namuddu said they went and with a group of engineers and health practitioners to enable them look for what these schools were lacking.
To their surprise, they realized that some of these schools lacked toilets, others with substandard constructions.
On this note KCCA gave a warning of three weeks to make sure that these standards are reached upon which none has so far responded.
According to Namuddu, sixteen schools from Lubaga division, seven from Kawempe, ten from the central division ,seven from Makindye and eight from Nakawa division shall be closed
