Steven Sserwadda’s goal in the first stanza was all KCCA FC needed to register win against Tusker FC in an international friendly played at Ruaraka stadium, Nairobi.
From kickoff, both teams showed immediate hunger but KCCA FC showed more zeal than the hosts. A beautiful interplay between Sserwadda and Allan Okello saw the former neatly tap the ball in the net with exquisite finesse on 23 minutes to give KCCA FC the advantage.
From then on it was end to end football as both teams possessed the ball when they won it over. Isaac Kirabira and Solomon Okwalinga dictated play and tempo in the midfield, while Brian Umony’s dazzle runs kept the Tusker back four on their toes for great spells of the game.
Peter Magambo and Walter Ochora’s partnership at the back was water tight as the pair hardly set a foot wrong.
After the resume, Brian Umony was taken off for Innocent Atiku and the cameo had a series of runs down the left flank that troubled the hosts’ defense.
As the game grew, Salim Kyobe and Kizza Mustafa were introduced for Steven Sserwadda and Hassan Musana repectively to add fire power to the game. Also Allan Okello making way for Lawrence Bukenya.
Custodian Tom Ikara was called in late to make a point blank save right at death to keep Muchiri’s effort out.
0-1 is how it ended KCCA FC taking the bragging rights over the brewers in their own territory.
