On Wednesday, 13th December 2017, the draws for the two CAF inter-club competitions for the upcoming year 2018 were held at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
2016/17 Azam Uganda Premier league champions, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) will face Madagascar champions CNaPS in the preliminary round of the 2018 Total CAF Champions league.
CNaPS will host the first leg between February 9th -11th 2018 as the return leg will happen between February 16-18th 2018.
Should KCCA progress past CNaPS over the two legs, they await the winner between Ethiopia’s St George or South Sudan’s Al Salam Wau.
A total of 59 clubs were engaged for the Total CAF Champions League 2018 competition draws whilst 54 were entered for the Total CAF Confederation Cup 2018.
Uganda will not be represented in the Total CAF Confederation cup 2018.
During the year 2017, KCCA initially played in the Total Champions League before they were dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup.
