Judicial officers under their umbrella body the Uganda Judicial Officers’ Association (UJOA) are today holding a meeting to pave a way forward after the elapse of the ultimatum they had given to government.
Apparently, the period ended without the responsible party making any formal commitment.
According to UJOA President Godfrey Kaweesa, up to date they have not received any official communication from government regarding the commitments it made earlier.
In today’s meeting, the judicial officers will vote whether to proceed with the strike or not.
In August, the officers went on strike protesting over poor pay but in September they suspended the industrial action to enable government finalise the promises made to them by justice minister Kahinda Otafiire.
