Police in Kabalagala, a suburb of Kampala have in detention two men, who were nabbed during a night operation, in possession of a number of weapons.
According to Mr Eston Atusingwize (Officer in Charge (OC) of Konge police post ,the suspects identified as Kabunga Francis & Senfuuka Jamadah residents of Kibuye were driving a car, Honda brand, registration number UAP 695B and were intercepted at a snap checkpoint mounted along Lukuli, Buziga Road.
Police managed to arrest the vehicle, breaking implements and on dialoging with the suspects, they revealed to us how areas without security lights have always been their key targets.” ASP Atusingwize said.
As police intensifies visibility during wee hours of the night this arrest brings back memories of Saturday September 16 2017 where five suspected thugs are said to have raided Mponye police post and hacked an officer. Being in the suburbs of Kampala, Kabalagala as a division has an influx of holiday guests who come from overseas to merry make. Therefore police has increased visibility throughout the area and the Community should also expect vehicle snap check points.
The area OC advised the public to be vigilant in these coming festive days, advised car owners without gates to install car alarm systems, have telephone numbers of their area police at their fingertips, buy alarm padlocks for their doors and enforce target .
