End of year is special for pupils in many ways. Many of them are being promoted to another class, some in P7 finally leave primary school. And certainly, it is time to shade off the stress of the year, and celebrate in style.
On December 17, is such a day. It is the Green Xmas Party for children under 13 years of age. On this day, children descend on Kololo Airtrip and celebrate their achievements of the year with colleagues from other schools. Here, they party, dance, play, model, sing – etc.
This year, Sadolin has joined hands with Little Hands Go Green, the organizers of the Green Xmas festival, and they are going around schools to give pupils a warm up to the festival.
One of the schools the Green team and Sadolin has visited this week is Trinity School in Bukoto.
Teacher Jackie, the Green patron of the school said they were “glad to be part of the Little Hands Go Green army.”
As children left classes to plant over 30 trees in their compound, courtesy of Sadolin, Teacher Jackie said, “We are honoured to be one of the green schools in Uganda. We lead by example by planting a number of trees every year with our pupils and they will grow up to eat the fruits from these trees.”
Mr Adupa Ongwech Felix, the public relations officer for Sadolin said his company was environmentally conscious and that was why do not make paint which is not compatible with the environment.
He said they have joined hands with Little Hands Go Green to make sure children learn more about the colours in their environment and what they stand for.
Sadolin will be donating over 3200 fruit trees this year to children in various schools and on the Green Xmas Fest.
Little Hands Go Green CEO Joseph Masembe thanked Trinity Schools for being committed in teaching children to conserve and preserve their environment.
“We have been pushing for meaningful children participation by parents, schools and companies. We are glad Sadolin has come down to the schools and children who will be Sadolin consumers tomorrow.”
