Moments after their safe landing at the Maya Maya international Airport in Brazzaville on Friday morning, the Uganda Cranes team checked in at Hotel Saphir.
Later in the day, they held a light training session at Stade Alphonse Massamba Debat.
According to the media officer in charge of the team in Brazzaville, Joseph Mutaka, all the players are in good shape, mentally and physically.
Uganda Cranes face Congo Brazzaville in a dead rubber contest of the final Group E in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier (Egypt already sealed their slot at next year’s World Cup in Russia).
Team captain Denis Onyango, who has been recently voted the best goalkeeper in the on-going qualifiers is optimistic the team will fight for the desired result.
‘We are all set to represent our mother country Uganda, it’s always a privilege to play for a national cause. This game is as rather vital as the rest of the other games previously held, it’s one that can hugely help us ascend our world ranking spot to a respectable seeding. All Ugandans should expect a descent display come Sunday and, a win a way from home is everyone’s aim,’
The final session will be conducted on Saturday evening at the exact match venue.
The match on Sunday will be played at the Unite De Kintele Stadium in Brazzaville.
Kick off time is already confirmed for 5:30pm East African standard time (3.30pm in Congo).
