Kampala based city tycoon Sam Buchanan has promised to bring a second team into the Azam Uganda premier league from the Luwero District.
Buchanan revealed this last weekend while giving his remarks to the people of Kalasa after winning a bull in a local organized tournament, where he advised them to work hard and make sure they are the best.
Here he managed to give every goal scorer UGX20,000 on spot, two sets of jerseys to both football and netball teams as well as a jersey for the area referees.
“We cannot allow our region Luwero to come up with only one team The Saints which is currently playing in the league. It is my concern to bring up a second team with players that can compete at National level” Said Buchanan.
Buchanan said that sports is one of the activities that bring together people in villages. On this note he thanked them for loving football.
He also promised to pay all the funds that are necessary for registering a team with the ruling body FUFA so that it can start competing.
Sentamu Kenneth, the chairperson Kalasa FC thanked Mr. Buchanan for the great support given to the team. On this note, Sentamu vowed to start up a new committee that will help in managing the day to day activities of the team.
“Inspite of the problems that Kalasa FC has been having, we are going to come up with a new committee to manage the work of the team.” Said Sentamu.
On the same function, two artists Ragga Dee and Red Banton boosted up the event with their music.
After singing, singer Ragga Dee thanked Buchanan for the work well done. Ragga Dee also promised to help the team in connecting it to the football stakeholders in the country so as to allow young players of the area be exposed.
“I know you can all play from Nakivubo or Nambole and am ready to give the relevant support” Said Raga Dee.
The function ended with a Red Banton singing for the mass that had missed him for quite a period of time.
