Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has revealed that it’s aware of the re-arrest of suspects in the murder of former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
Out of the seven suspects, four were re-arrested on Tuesday minutes after they had been granted bail by the Nakawa magistrate’s court, according to Geoffrey Turyamusiima, the lawyer of the suspects
They include; Umaru Maganda, Majid Ojegere, Ahmed Ssenfuka and Abdul Kisa.
In a video trending online, one of the re-arrested suspects a one Ssenfuka was seen being roughed up and brutally arrested by non-uniformed men with pistols.
Army spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire the re-arrest was a joint operation carried out by a number of security agencies.
“It was a joint operation by security agencies and we arrested him (Ahmed Ssenfuka) over cases that are being investigated,” said Brig. Karemire as quoted by Nile Post.
Apparently, Ssenfuka is being detained at the Police Special Investigations unit in Kireka, Kampala.
