Ugandan journalists are going to stage a demonstration protesting the illegal detention of The Investigator journalists who were arrested early this week.
They are planning to storm the Inspector General of Police(IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura’s administration office in Naguru to claim for the release of Stanley Ndawula, the CEO of The Investigator and his colleague Robert Ndawula.
The duo was arrested on Tuesday night after being interrogated at Police’s Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (CIID) over computer misuse related cases.
On Friday, the Nakawa Chief Magistrate Noah Sajjabi ordered police bosses including Gen Kayihura to produce the two journalists in court if they have charges or be released immediately unconditionally.
Unfortunately, Police defied court’s order thus detaining them up to date.
