Police have banned the wearing red ribbons at Namboole stadium for today’s football game between Uganda and Ghana in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Red ribbons have become a symbol of protest against the amendment of the constitution to lift the presidential age limit that would enable President Museveni to seek for reelection in 2021 after clocking 75 years of age.
Apparently military Police has been deployed at Mandela National Stadium-Namboole where the match is going to take place.
The red topped security operatives are set to suppress any form of protest.
Last weeks, some of the politicians opposed to the contentious age limit bill revealed that they were going to mobilize the general public to put on red ribbons as they match to Namboole.
