Internal affairs minister Gen Jeje Odongo has told the media that SP Aaron Baguma must be handed over for trial over murder charges.
Police yesterday said they had finally received summons for former Kampala Central Police Station commander, Aaron Buguma.
Gen Odongo who is the line minister for the Police department said the DPP had taken up the matter and has initiated the process of bringing Baguma before the courts as required by law.
Baguma was taken to court on murder charges but police has always held that they have never received his criminal summons. The hearing of the case is due this Thursday.
Deputy police spokesperson Polly Namaye told the media on Monday morning that police had received summons for Baguma and they send him to court at an appropriate time.
Baguma is needed by the Buganda Road chief magistrates court on accusations of murder alongside other suspects who arrested and tortured a businesswoman, Donah Katushabe to death after she failed to pay a balance of Shs9m on a car she purchased in October last year.
