The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has today on Tuesday allowed the controversial age limit bill to be tabled on the floor of parliament.
The age limit bill which will be tabled by Igara West MP Raphael Magezi aims at amending article 102b of the constitution to scrap off the age limit which will allow Yoweri Museveni stand as president in 2021 after clocking 75 years of age.
The speaker also allowed other two motions by Sam Lyomoki and Patrick Nsamba to be tabled on the floor of the house.
Lyomoki’s Motion seeks to among others provide for immunity to President Museveni once he leaves office; while that by Nsamba calls for the constitutional amendments to be handled by the Constitutional Review Commission.
Apparently, a brawl has erupted inside Parliament; some members are tossing chairs protesting against Kadaga’s decision.
