Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has defended himself for missing out on Thursday’s age limit scuffle.
The singer’s absence in the struggle sparked a wide criticism among the general public, many accusing him of being unpatriotic and a double standard agent.
However, Bobi Wine has said he was invited by Bill Gates and wife for a conference attended by top world leaders, which opportunity he thought was so important to Uganda’s struggle.
He revealed that as Ugandans in struggle, they need international allies if they are to dismantle dictatorship thus promising people that soon they will see the benefits out of engagement with world leaders.
Bobi Wine stated;
“I was invited by Bill Gates and his wife for a conference which was attended by Obama,the Canadian Prime Minister,The Norwegian Prime minister, The Indian Prime minister and many other world leaders and I was to represent Uganda and present a paper on democracy and governance;something I thought was so important to our struggle. We must remember that we need international alies if we are to dismantle this dictatorship. You will soon see the benefits of what we got from there. I had confirmed my attendance and indeed i managed to establish contacts that will be so usefully to us very soon. Remember even M7 had to use foreign help to kick out Obote. We cannot succeed in isolation of the international community. I was commanding from far however am now back to the front. What I had gone to do was also to further our struggle.
