Kampala City Capital Authority [KCCA] together with VERMA Company made a partnership in sensitizing the motor riders on road safety and traffic signs.
The sensitization exercise is started today from the Golf course road where KCCA together with VERMA company staff were directing boda boda riders on the safest ways of handling traffic lights.
Bruce Mucunguzi, the corporate sales manager at VERMA said that accidents have increased in Uganda not because that people do not know traffic signs but simply due to the ignorance of some few.
It is on this note that he called upon all motor riders to go on the Bajaj free traffic signs class that they conduct two days weakly, to enable them not to mess with the traffic laws.
“if we start slowly, change shall be seen and 9 out of 10 accidents shall be reduced” said Mucunguzi.
The chief commercial officer for Nish Auto Ltd Mr. Pramod Yadav confirmed that they shall have two sessions daily, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, covering over 822 riders in this sensitization campaign.
“We have worked together with KCCA and that is why they gave us traffic wardens” added Yadav.
The road safety and sensitization campaign shall include activities of teaching the motor users about traffic signs as well as the dangers on not riding safe on the road.
