Roads have been named after Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, a move past Kenyan leaders have endorsed while still in office.
Now, only President Mwai Kibaki does not have a street named after him in Kenya.
Now, current president Uhuru has welcomed the naming of two roads in Chuka Town in Tharaka Nithi county.
Presidency spokesman Manoah Esipisu said, “Leaders have the democratic right to honour any leader in the country for services to the nation; and those so honoured can both be proud and humbled by this.”
The two roads were named after the two leaders at the behest of Chuka/Igamba Ng’ombe MP Muthoni Njuki who also got his name on a road. Area Senator Kithure Kindiki also got decorated.
