The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura has redeployed a police officer with three criminal case files pending against him.
The police boss has redeployed Wilber Wanyama as the new Commander of Crime Investigations in Aswa Region even although he is accused of tampering with exhibits in a $40,000 gold related case, extorting more than shs60 million from a fuel dealer as well as burning CID offices at Old Kampala Police station and theft of exhibits including motorcycles and hard cash.
According to URN two of the files were investigated by PSU and sent to the Directorate of Legal and Human Rights Affairs for advice. The PSU Commandant, Joel Aguma confirmed the unit sent its findings to the legal department.
Kayihura made the redeployment two weeks ago through his Deputy, Okoth Ochola.
