Due to public outcry, MTN has revised its exploitative data bundle packages to suit consumers in a favourable and friendly manner.
MTN’s outburst started off last week after hordes of customers accused the telecom company of depleting their data bundles so fast and increasing the rates while decreasing the number of MBs which prompted Uganda Communications Commission(UCC) to intervene.
In a letter dated 7th July, UCC ordered MTN to explain the bundle discrepancies with justification and gave them a few days to respond to this letter. At that time, MTN had not yet released any formal communication and clarity into the matter a move that saw a huge social media backlash. Several memes, insults and jokes towards MTN hit the interwebs with some subscribers threatening to churn from the network.
In response, MTN last evening made a few changes to its social pack to calm down the angry customers.
