Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) bowed out of the 2017 Total CAF Confederation, but with heads lifted high.
KCCA FC lost 4-0 to Club Africain at Stade Olympique Du Races on Friday in their final game of Group A.
Slow out of the blocks, like it has been the case on all away games eventually turned out to haunt KCCA FC.
As early as the 10th minute, Club Africain got the lead through their captain Saber Khalifa inside 10 minutes.
This set the pace for the rest of the game and by halftime the hosts were leading 3-0 through Haded Mannoubi and Mootaz Zemzimi in the 25th and 41st minutes respectively.
Team manager, Mike Mutebi opted for an early change introducing Derrick Nsibambi for Jackson Nunda at the half hour mark but still this didn’t produce any magic.
There were further changes after recess with Muzamir Mutyaba paving way for Paul Mucureezi while Dennis Rukundo replaced Timothy Dennis Awany.
Despite improving a lot after the break, KCCA FC failed to find comfort in Club Africains final third.
Club Africain completed the rout with the fourth goal in added time through Mannoubi Hadad.
The result meant KCCA FC finished 3rd in group A on 9 points in 6 games but with valuable lessons picked ahead of the 2018 CAF Champions League.
