On Tuesday president Yoweri Museveni lifted a ban on Tuk Tuk motorcycles which was earlier issued by Minister for Kampala Beti Kamya.
Early this month, Kamya issued a ban on the three wheel motorcycles (tuk tuk) operating from the city citing that they were not licensed to transport passengers.
However, while in Kyadondo East yesterday trying to campaign for NRM candidate Sebalu Sitenda, Museveni said the people using tuk tuk can resume operations as he looks into their matter.
“In the sitting with boda boda and taxi operators of Nabugabo at Kasangati resort hotel, I heard their issues through the leadership. At an appropriate time we are going to sit again together with line ministers to get to the bottom of some of the issues raised. For example the call for election of leaders, an old pledge of three taxis and the recent ban of the three wheel motorcycles (tuk-tuk),” Museveni said.
“In the meantime the people using these motorcycles can resume operations,” he added.
