President Museveni’s top lawyer Kiwanuka Kiryowa has earned another degree. Kiryowa is a managing partner in K&K Advocates, the law firm which represents Museveni and the first family.
Last week Kiryowa could not hide his happiness after he was among the privileged group graduating with masters’ degrees at the University of Dundee in Scotland.
He tweeted on his handle ? @KiryowaKk “Graduated from the University of Dundee with a Master of Laws degree in Petroleum Law and Policy.”
Kiryowa, one of the board members on the National Petroleum Authority, is likely going to use his knowledge to offer legal guidance to the oil industry, which has already raised red flags in the country after a group of people involved in taxation tribunal with Heritage Oil decided to share among themselves Sh6 billion in what has become famously known as “golden handshake”.
That Kiryowa has been representing the president successfully in legal battles, will this time round offer his expertise to the oil industry.
The University of Dundee is one of United Kingdom’s premier educational institutions.
