The team leader for Uganda Youth and Adolescents Health Forum (UYAHF) Mr. Patrick Mwesigye has this afternoon reminded the public that menstrual hygiene is every one concern.
Speaking this Mwesigye was addressing a national high level stake holders dialogue on promotion of menstruation hygiene and management.
The dialogue took place at hotel Africana where young girls and boys gave their views on what to be done in case one experienced menstruation.
“I believe if every one comes out to help the young girls,many issues shall be sorted.” Said Mwesigye.
The Managing Director for Mile stone enterprises Uganda LTD also Woman MP for Kiruhura district Hon Kabaije Sheila Mwine also sharpened her voice on the issue of menstruation saying that she is an activist in her area Kiruhura.
“In Kiruhura we have started making reusable sanitary pads. I believe that if we work harder,this whole issue would be solved” Said Kabaije.
She added that menstruation should be something that parents tell to their children at an earlier age such that they don’t face a surprise when they get into the system.
The dialogue was attended by civil societies, government, students,teachers as well as menstruation activists.
