Civil servants are about to rejoice for their salary increment after the government finally answered their prayers to put money in the country’s budget for their salary increment come 2017- 2018.
State minister of finance for planning David Bahati said that government has put money in the budget to increase on its workers salary which will improve on their income and working conditions.
Bahati said this during the manifesto week review of the first year in the fifth term at the Uganda Media Center which is ongoing for a whole of this week.
“The money is already on the budget that will be read out to you soon in June this year,” Bahati said.
Remember that various government sectors have been demonstrating for the past years asking the government to increase on their salaries and allowances including the Makerere university strike where lectures demanded salary increment which lead to the university’s closure for months.
Also teachers, doctors, lectures and many other workers have been usually and consistently demanding the government to increase their salaries.
