Different security forces in Entebbe Municipality have embarked on registering all homesteads neighboring State House Entebbe in a bid to promote “know your neighbor” neighbourhood watch program and bolster security in the areas close to State House. The registration exercise is being spearheaded by Special Forces Command (SFC) in conjunction with other security agencies including Entebbe Police.
According to Entebbenews.com, the registration exercise will cover homes in Nsamizi starting from National Medical Stores (NMS) offices, Uringi Crescent in Kiwafu Central and Entebbe Junior School in Kiwafu East (Bitooke).
“We are rolling out a registration exercise for all residents neighboring State House Entebbe. Our aim basically is to promote “Know your neighbor” neighbourhood watch program and bolster security in the area. The area LC I Chairpersons will help us in identifying their residents and the information will help us to plan accordingly,” a source privy to the registration exercise disclosed.
Meanwhile RDC Nalongo Rose Kirabira tasked all the LCI Chairpersons and Police in Entebbe Municipality and Katabi Town Council to register all the residents in the areas. She issued the directive during a Baraza (Open forum meeting) that was held a few weeks ago in Abaita Ababiri.
