The Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa, has today; Tuesday April 25th 2017, received copies of credentials for the High commissioner-designate of the United Republic of Tanzania, Amb. Grace Aaron Mgovano.
Amb Mgovano expressed her pleasure at the new post appreciating the tremendous support the Government of Uganda had extended to her predecessor.
Hon. Kutesa welcomed Amb. Mgovano to Uganda. He stated that Uganda and Tanzania enjoy excellent relations, not only bilaterally and in the region. He recalled the common projects shared by Uganda and Tanzania, including the Oil pipeline and Refinery projects as well as the Kikagati-Murogoro 14 MW power plant agreement.
The two agreed that outstanding border issues as well as the agreed areas of cooperation in the recently concluded UG-TZ Joint Permanent Commission would be priority areas of work for both countries.
Amb. Mgovano, who has worked in the Government of Tanzania since 1980 holds a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Economics from the Karl Max Higher Institute of Economics, Sofia Bulgaria. She has previously served in Rome, and was Ag. High Commissioner of Tanzania in Nairobi before moving to Kampala.
Hon. Kutesa wished her a pleasant term of duty in Uganda.
