On Tuesday Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) passed a directive for all Ugandans to verify register their SIM cards within seven days or face disconnection.
Many people especially those without National IDs complained about the ultimatum saying it was too short since it also included non working days of Easter weekend.
However, the National Identification and Registration Authority has come out to clarify that it’s offices will remain open during the Easter Holiday so that people could be able to retain IDs so that they can register their SIM cards within the announced seven days.
