In an unexpected turn of events, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Council Hall has been locked by unknown individuals ahead of a key meeting scheduled for today.
The ordinary council meeting, which was set to take place this morning, was expected to discuss several important matters, with the Kiteezi Landfill Report high on the agenda. However, council members and other stakeholders were shocked to find the hall locked, preventing the meeting from taking place as planned.
The Kiteezi landfill has been a point of concern for many residents and authorities due to issues related to waste management and environmental impact. The council was set to address these problems in today’s session, along with other city development matters.
It is still unclear who locked the hall or what their intentions were. Authorities are currently investigating the matter to ensure that the council meeting can proceed without further disruption.
This incident has raised questions about the security of council premises and the lengths to which some might go to block important discussions. Residents and officials alike are awaiting further information on when the meeting will be rescheduled.
More updates will follow as the situation develops.
