In a captivating interview earlier today with a Kansanga based TV station, Honorable Hillary Kiyaga, affectionately known to his fans as Dr. Hilderman, gave a hilariously candid take on the latest political maneuver that has Uganda buzzing. The topic? None other than Edy Kenzo’s surprising new gig as a presidential advisor on the creative industry!
Dr. Hilderman didn’t mince his words, painting a vivid picture of what he called a “classic Museveni strategy” ahead of the 2026 elections. “It’s already known that whenever Museveni sidelines you from an important role in government, he gives you an advisory duty so you don’t feel abandoned,” he quipped with a knowing smile. “But in Kenzo’s case, he just jumped off the music stage and landed straight into a presidential advisory seat! I think his job is to help with mobilization during campaigns, and nothing more than that.”
For those who might have missed it, this move comes amid President Museveni’s ongoing effort to neutralize his most lyrical opponent, Bobi Wine, the musician-turned-politician who’s been giving him sleepless nights. Museveni seems to be calling upon his own “musical warriors” to balance the scales, turning his cabinet into something resembling a hit parade.
And it’s not just Kenzo taking the stage! Remember Catherine Kusasira, Butcherman, and Full Figure? All musicians who have, one way or another, found themselves at the table of the powerful, donning the badge of “Presidential Advisor.” Now, with Kenzo joining the band, the creative industry appears to be tuning up for quite the political remix!
So, is this Museveni’s way of composing a new kind of campaign anthem, or is there more to the story?
Stay tuned!!!!
