State Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial relations Herbert Kabafunzaki has been released on a cash bail of shs5 million.
Kabafunzaki was arrested last Saturday for allegedly soliciting and receiving a bribe from AYA Group boss Hamid Muhammad with the main essence of cleaning his name from the sexual harassment claims by one of his female worker.
Yesterday, the junior minister was arraigned in Anti-Corruption Court where he pleaded not guilty.He was charged with two counts of corruption contrary to Section 2(a) and Section 26 of the Anti-Corruption Act, 2009, and one count of conspiracy contrary to Section 390 of the Penal Code Act.
The minister, who is also the Rukiga County MP, was charged alongside two others; Mr Brian Mugabo, 21, his political assistant and Mr Bruce Lubowa, 42, an interior designer in Wakiso District.
After the court session, Kabafunzaki was sent to Luzira and was ordered to return today for his bail application ruling.
