Colonel Zhang Hao, the Chinese Military Attaché to Uganda, paid a courtesy visit to General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces on Wednesday at the Special Forces Command (SFC) Headquarters in Entebbe.
During their meeting, General Kainerugaba and Colonel Zhang hailed the historic relations between the Republic of Uganda and the People’s Republic of China. They acknowledged the significance of their countries’ longstanding friendship and cooperation.
As the first Chinese Military Attaché to be posted to Uganda, Colonel Zhang and General Kainerugaba pledged to further strengthen military cooperation in areas of mutual interest, fostering a deeper partnership between their nations.
The deployment of a Defence Attaché signifies a strengthening and upgrading of the strategic relationship between the Republic of Uganda and the People’s Republic of China.
Recently, Gen Kainerugaba met the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda days after meeting a delegation from China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO) one of the largest aerospace and defense companies in the world.
