Hearts of thousands of Ugandans skipped beats on seeing photos of a 89-year-old, Lawrence Otim who braved teargas and walked to former Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye’s car with his polythene bag saying he had starved long enough so he needed a share on the food relief.
This trying moment took place on Wednesday when Besigye and other FDC members were distributing relief food in Toroma sub county, Katakwi.
However, the distribution was short lived as police blocked the suppliers on grounds that it needed to examine the food before they allow the FDC party members to distribute it.
Police implored teargas and live bullets to disperse off residents who had insisted on receiving the relief.
Starving Otim said,” “I have starved for long it is amazing that FDC has brought food, let police allow us receive this food,”
