Makerere University Academic staff has accused the Appointments Board of acting with arbitrary powers to suspend Research fellow Dr. Stella Nyanzi after she posted barbs on social media laced with profanities aimed at the first lady Janet Museveni.
Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) Spokesperson Dr Deus Muhwezi says much as they don’t support Nyanzi’s style of communication, they will challenge the suspension because Nyanzi was not given a fair hearing.
Early this week Appointments Committee resolved to suspend Nyanzi after offering her several warmings to stop using social media to abuse fellow staff and other leaders in the service of Makerere University but she never ceased abusing them.
