During the celebrations of World Wildlife Day today at Uganda Museum, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) unveiled Wildlife Street on Kira Road and has handed it over to Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) which will re-brand it.
Ten wildlife monuments representing signature species in each of Uganda’s national parks will be installed.
Deputy Prime Minister Moses Ali has been the chief guest at the event.
Ministers of tourism Ephraim Kamuntu and Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi ,UWA Executive Director Dr Seguya Andrew, Uganda Wildlife Educational Centre (UWEC) ED James Musinguzi, Uganda Tourism Board deputy CEO John Ssempebwa among others, attended the event.
A lot of activities such as a walk from Independence memorial in Kampala to the Uganda museum, UWA canine unit demonstrated how to track down ivory and many more have been exhibited.
