The 12th Annual National Conference for Uganda Community Library Association has kicked off.
The conference which started today 21 July, 2022 will run for three days at Marko Lukooya Lemorial Community Library at MULIA Foundation in Bbanda Bugenderadala.
After 2 years of missing out this conference, this time round the event will run under the theme, “Building resilience among community libraries post covid-19 in Uganda”.
Airtel Uganda, National Library of Uganda, Maedeleo foundation, Book Aid International, Rotary clubs in Uganda among other stakeholders are partnering to make this conference a success.
Over 60 community libraries across the country will be joining the conference. The Guest of honor will be Mr. Aggrey Kibenge, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Gender, labor and Social Development.
Mr Rogers Sserunjogi, the Founder of Music For Life Africa Foundation where the host library, Marko Lukooya Memorial Community is located says, ” It’s time to make communities take lead in their development through community initiatives. All villages need to have their own libraries, we are humbled to host this initiative in Nakisunga Sub county.”
