Link Bus company has suspended its daily travels for three days to mourn with the families of the people who perished in yesterday’s accident.
On Wednesday, a bus attached to Link Bus Services, reg. No. UBA 003S, with over 40 people on board veered off the road near Fort portal City along Kampala- Kasese Highway, overturned and killed 20 people on spot , out of whom 13 were adults while 7 are juveniles.
Tom Alinde, the Link Bus spokesperson told the press on Thursday that suspending their travels means they will have time to mourn as well as inspect the situation of injured people plus those who lost their properties such that they cater for everyone.
Alinde added its inhumans to work when their customers got problems and shows a bad image for the company.
He also requested passengers who always use link buses to opt for other means in case they have emergency travellers. If not they can wait until Sunday.
He further disclosed that after three days of suspension, management will call an emergency meeting of all link bus staff for the way forward and if needed refreshment courses to drivers will be conducted.
