The Rt. Honourable Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has hosted Muslim legislators, Parliament staff and friends for an Iftar dinner, a meal meant to break fast for Muslims during the Holy Month of Ramadhan and appreciated them for observing the clerical laws and pillars of Islam.
The dinner held at her residence in Nakasero comes barely two weeks after the annual Iftar hosted by Parliament for the Muslim Community.
Speaker Among Appreciated Muslims for observing the Holy Month which is characterised by forgiveness and reconciliation as prescribed in the Holy Quran.
”I want to appreciate the Muslim community for their support in my political career. I pledge to support the Muslim Community throughout this period,” said Among.
The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) president Moses Magogo also the Member of Parliament for Budiope East Moses Magogo lauded Parliament for it’s utmost support towards the development of the beautiful game in the country.
”Such a Holy month is learning curve to many of us as the Muslim fraternity. I heavily appreciate the Parliament and my fellow members of the Muslim Fraternity for their ultmost support towards my growth in leadership both politically and sports management administration in general,” said Magogo.
