Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) stakeholders yesterday, 26th April 2022 held a meeting that seeks to revive the dropping level of activities and participation of the district at the national level.
Those who attended the meeting include: the National Secretary UNSA(Toskin Fred), Regional Coordinator (Farouk Jacob Opiro), District Coordinator (Mary), together with Secondary Head Teachers, Agago Deputy Resident District Commissioner Cosmas James Okidi, among others.
UNSA which has been dormant in Agago district for the last four years, resolved to revive its activities starting on 20th June, 2022.
President Yoweri Museveni is the association’s Patron at the national level whereas the Resident District Commissioners are its patrons in their respective districts.
The meeting which was chaired by Agago Deputy RDC Okidi resolved that all schools in the district must have functional UNSA leadership by 20th June this year.
Okidi said that the district observed the functionality of UNSA leadership that would help in the promotion of discipline, Welfare, and Excellent Academic performance among students.
“As a team, we had agreed to have trees planted in some selected schools as part of the activities to revamp UNSA in the district,” the deputy RDC added.
Meanwhile, in his speech, the UNSA regional coordinator for Northern Uganda, Farouk Opiro Jacob stated, “The presence of UNSA in learning institutions gives room for students’ voices to be heard since it’s leadership-oriented.”
