Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka has told off city political leaders that the authority has no money to facilitate their travels abroad.
In a 20th April 2022 letter to Kampala City Lord Mayor and Division Mayors, Ms Kisaka said that her office has been receiving various requests from a number of political leaders for facilitation to attend trainings, workshops, conferences and other engagements abroad.
She however, says that the authority will not be able to fulfill their requests because the budget for travels abroad was suspended by government.
“This is to bring to your attention that the budget provision for travel abroad for financial year 2020/21 was suspended by government. The government has further indicated that the position on suspension of external travel will be maintained in the next financial year 2022/2023,”Ms Kisaka stated.
“Owing to the above position, KCCA will not be able to meet the various requests for facilitation for travel abroad. This is therefore to request you to communicate this position to your respective councils.”
