Donald Trump spoke to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and South African president Jacob Zuma on Monday, February 13.
However, there was no phone call for President Yoweri Museveni.
According to CNN, Trump assured Buhari of its readiness to help Nigeria with military weapons to combat terrorism and invited him to Washington.
Trump and Zuma reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the already strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two presidents also discussed the need to work together on the quest for peace and stability on the African continent.
Trump had never spoken about his plans for the African continent apart from travel bans for three African countries; Somalia, Libya and Sudan.
During presidential elections, Trump had vowed to overthrow President Museveni and Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe and put them in dungeons. A section of Africans were happy but only to realize that the controversial president was trying to pull a populist stunt
