Minister of State Microfinance and Small Enterprises Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune has revealed that becoming a Finance Minister is one of luckiest opportunities one can get.
While meeting the Emyooga Cash beneficiaries in Rubanda district on Monday, Minister Kasolo noted that Rubanda district was lucky to have Minister Musasizi Henry, who’s in the finance ministry.
“Becoming a finance minister means you’re in charge of the resources that run this country. How lucky are you Rubanda to have Hon Musasizi in the ministry of finance? Always thank President Museveni for putting Hon Musasizi in that special office. No wonder, this district voted for the NRM Party by 87 percent, ” Minister Kasolo noted.
“As far as development is concerned in our areas, lobbying is key. And when you have a minister in government, a minister of finance for your case is special. Expect to see rapid development than before. Such are privileges that come when you support NRM. Rubanda will shine because of Hon Musasizi in the finance ministry. Kindly repay NRM in 2026.”
Henry Musasizi Ariganyira was last year appointed as the Minister of State General Duties in the Ministry of Finance by H.E Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa. Musasizi had previously served as the chairman of the finance committee in parliament.
Minister Kasolo also rallied Ugandans to embrace the saving culture to get out of poverty.
“You will never get out of poverty if you continue feeding your stomach without saving. Save and grow. There’s no rich person on earth who became wealthy without saving” Kasolo said.
Rubanda district received Shs 1.3 billion and was disbursed to 32 Emyooga groups.
According to Kwizwera Alex, the Rubanda district Chief Administrative Officer, only Shs 281 loan repayments have been made and Shs 359 million have been saved by the Emyooga Sacco members.
Emyooga is the Presidential Initiative on Wealth and Job Creation. Emyooga was launched by H.E the President of Uganda in August 2019 and at least Shs100bn was released for Ugandans.
