Tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia might have challenges consolidating his empire since government took away his Crane bank, however, he’s doing everything to protect his interests in education which are so dear to him.
On Friday, Sudhir who owns about four schools in Kampala assured parents of Kampala Parents School (KPS) that top school was in safe hands irrespective of the current setback in a couple of his other businesses.
Addressing parents during a school management meeting, the school owner refuted allegations that his school was sold thus reassuring all stakeholders that KPS is here to stay.
The move to engage stakeholders to address their fears was a bold and wise move as education service is a sensitive sector.
The heated meeting, according to our sources, managed to erase fears including the performance of students in primary leaving examinations.
A section of angry parents raised the issue of deteriorating performance, blaming it to the demotivate or less experienced teachers. Sudhir was told that the school administration had sacked experienced teachers replacing them with Indians who are less experienced.
However, the business mogul assured parents that things are about to change since the performance is going to get even better than before this year.
Kampala Parents School is one of the top flight schools in Uganda, attracting over the years, some of the smartest children in the country.
