It seems all is not well for Uganda’s largest business mogul Sudhir Ruparelia as financial recession continues to suppress the now sad tycoon.
The exclusive information reaching our desk indicates that Bank of Uganda has again taken over Sudhir’s multi-billion Hardware City building in Nakasero.
Last year, the same central bank took over tycoon’s Crane Bank claiming that the institution was undercapitalized. Later his bank was sold to DFCU.
Watchdog has learnt that this is just the beginning; many assets belonging to Ruparelia Group chairman are on verge of being seized by government since its alleged that the state demands him over shs500 billion.
Early last week Sudhir cried foul as he cursed state sponsored businessmen for spreading dangerous messages about him and ganging up to take his remaining assets through using all sought of threats like imprisoning his children, take his marital home among others.
