A total of 281 Uganda People’s Defence Forces- UPDF soldiers have completed a three(03) months intensive training in Mountain (Mtn) warfare at Mountain Warfare Training School(MWTS).
Officiating at the function, Mtn Division Commander(( Mtn Div Comd) Maj Gen Kayanja Muhanga congratulated trainees upon the successfull completion of the vigorous training and urged them to have discipline as it is the core principle for UPDF’s success.
The Commandant of the school, Col.Dothan Kavuma said that the course,which opened on 15 June 2021,is a specialised Mountain Warfare training which covered both technical, tactical and guest lectures and the skills acquired superceded the ones acquired during basic training.
Present was the 2i/c Div Comd Mtn Div Brig Gen Chris Ogwal, Brigade and Battalion Commanders from Mtn Div and staff officers from Mtn Division among others.
