A boda boda rider has been killed by a mob for stealing a pig.
Crispus Nahabwe aka Gaddafi, who was a boda boda rider in Kabale town, was killed by a mob in the middle of the night when he was caught red handed stealing a pig.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was on Monday morning at around 02:00 am heard making alarm to be forgiven by the killers, according to the witness.
The deceased was in the morning hours found dead with deep cuts on the head and both legs.
It’s alleged that he was caught stealing a pig in Omutaba village Kabura cell, Mwendo parish Kitumba sub county Kabale district, and that he took off to the neighboring Kabura village where the yet to be identified villagers got him and assaulted him to death.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson says that the police operation ASP Mohammed Byansi led by the police dog tracked and discovered one person identified as Junior who later ran away.
The deceased is a resident of Makanga cell, Butobere ward in Kabale municipality.
“Efforts to identify the pig in question are under way and to have the culprits arrested since no suspect(s) have been identified, ” Maate said.
This case has been registered at Kabale police station under file number CRB 817/2021.
