Former state minister for animal husbandry, Mary R. Mugyenyi has joined the race to represent Uganda in the East African Legislative Assembly.
Ms Mugyenyi, a two-term legislator in the Ugandan parliament, is one of the leading aspirants to fill Uganda’s nine seats in the regional Assembly. She’s renowned for her passion for gender issues, agriculture and tourism as well as diplomacy and negotiation skills.
The former Nyabushozi MP brings on the table over 10 years of legislation as well as experience from the Pan African parliament where she was a deputy.
Mugyenyi is expected to pick her nomination forms from the National Resistance Movement Electoral commission offices on Monday.
